This may leave us feeling mentally, emotionally, or physically unwell, and over time, these imbalances can manifest as dis-ease in the body.Sound healing works by using sound waves to help restore this balance. By introducing therapeutic frequencies into the body, it’s possible to clear stagnant or unhealthy energy and support harmony and healing on a deep, cellular level.A sound healing session is a deeply immersive experience. I use carefully selected instruments to create a soundscape of harmonious tones, binaural beats, and soothing sonic frequencies. This therapeutic atmosphere encourages the mind and body to shift from an active beta brainwave state (normal waking consciousness) into slower, more meditative theta states or even delta states (associated with deep sleep and cellular repair). It is in these deeply relaxed states that we can access inner stillness, clarity, and the body’s innate capacity to heal.The instruments I use include crystal and metal singing bowls, gongs, drums, chimes, tuning forks, shakers, sansula, and the voice. It’s processed through the ears and sends signals to the vagus nerve — often described as the body’s “reset button.” But it doesn’t stop there. What can I expect during a sound healing session?

What to Expect from a Sound Healing SessionA sound healing session — often called a sound bath — is a beautiful opportunity to receive, reset, and rebalance. Each session is unique, but they typically last around an hour and are designed to support deep rest and inner healing.We begin with a short, gentle breathing practice to help you settle your body and mind. From there, you’ll make yourself comfortable — usually lying down on a yoga mat with a cosy blanket, cushion, and an eye mask if you’d like. Then, you simply receive as the soothing sounds begin.Using a variety of instruments — including gongs, crystal singing bowls, chimes, and drums — I create a rich soundscape designed to gently shift your brainwaves and activate the body’s natural healing abilities. You’ll be "bathed" in vibrations that can help release stress, soothe the nervous system, and invite a deeper sense of peace. There may be pauses or moments of silence to help you fully absorb the sounds.Your role is simply to open up, allow yourself to receive, and trust in the process. You don’t need to do anything — just be present. If you're attending for the first time, or know you’re sensitive to sound, you're welcome to place yourself near the exit. If you ever feel the need to quietly step out, please feel free to do so — your comfort is important.Everyone’s Experience is UniqueSound healing is an immersive and often deeply personal experience. You may feel a range of physical or emotional responses — or you might simply feel calm and relaxed. All of it is welcome.As your body relaxes and your mind quiets, you may enter a meditative or dreamlike state. It’s common to drift in and out of consciousness — that space between sleep and wakefulness. Some people see colours, patterns, or visions. Others receive insights, creative downloads, or emotional releases. You might even fall asleep — and that’s okay! The healing continues, whether you’re awake or not.Some participants report sensations like tingling, warmth, coolness, or gentle vibrations in their body. These can be caused by the powerful frequencies of instruments like the gong and drum. In some cases, you may notice twitching or spontaneous movements in the hands or feet — this is a natural clearing of stuck energy.Emotional responses may also arise. You could feel joy, peace, sadness, laughter, irritation, or a sense of euphoria. Whatever comes up is part of the process. I invite you to remain open, breathe through it, and allow emotions to pass without judgment or the need to "fix" anything.After the SessionAt the end of the session, I’ll gently guide you back into full awareness and help you ground. Because sound can influence your mind, body, and mood, it's important to consult your GP or healthcare provider if you have certain medical conditions or concerns.Below are some guidelines to help you decide whether to speak with a medical professional before attending a session.Neurological ConditionsIf you have a neurological condition, please speak to your GP before attending a session.Sound-induced epilepsy: Some individuals may experience seizures triggered by specific sounds. This is rare, but if you know you have this condition, it's important to identify your personal sound triggers and consult your doctor before attending.Deep brain stimulation devices (DBS): If you have Parkinson’s and use a DBS device, sound healing may not be suitable until your doctor confirms it's safe.For any neurological disorder, it’s best to check with your GP to see whether sound healing is appropriate. In some cases, it may be safe to attend by simply sitting further away from the instruments.PregnancySound healing can be a beautiful and supportive practice for both mother and baby. The soothing vibrations and meditative sounds may help expectant mothers feel more connected, relaxed, and nurtured during pregnancy.That said, pregnancy is a uniquely sensitive time — especially in the early stages — so I always invite you to tune into your body and intuition. It’s a gentle and inclusive practice that welcomes everyone — regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, culture, or beliefs.You don’t need any special skills or experience to benefit. Most of the time, all that’s required is for you to relax in a comfortable position and simply receive the soothing sounds and vibrations.That said, if it’s your first time attending or your health circumstances have recently changed, please take a moment to review the FAQ section titled “Are there any precautions or contraindications?” to ensure the session will be supportive and safe for you.

Healing is a deeply personal journey — there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. That’s why private one-to-one sound healing sessions are completely tailored to you and your unique needs, creating a space where your body, mind, and spirit can return to vibrational harmony.When you book a private session, we’ll begin with a gentle consultation to explore your intentions, preferences, and any areas you’d like to focus on. Whether you simply want to rest and receive, surrender into deep relaxation, or work through something specific — like emotional blockages, a physical condition, or patterns you’re ready to release — the session will be designed to support you.You might wish to explore:Deep rest and nervous system resetReleasing stored emotions or traumaShifting limiting beliefs or behavioural patternsReconnecting with your authentic selfGaining clarity, insight or inspirationEach session is intuitively guided and typically lasts around 60 minutes (sometimes up to 90 minutes if needed). A variety of healing instruments will be used — from crystal bowls and gongs to shamanic drums and voice — depending on what your energy needs in the moment. All you need to do is relax and remain open to receiving the healing vibrations.Some people choose a one-off session to support them during a specific life moment, while others benefit from a regular series of sessions for deeper, ongoing support and transformation.
